(1) HELP IMRAN KHAN CANCER APPEAL

Assalamu'Alaikum,

May Peace & Blessings Be Upon You

Whilst we spend time contemplating what to buy for Eid, someone else is contemplating whether they will survive to see another Ramadan.

Cancer destroys lives. Help Imran Khan Cancer Appeal rebuild them.

Ibn Abbas (ra) narrates:"The Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him) was the most charitable amongst the people, and he used to be more so in the month of Ramadan when Angel Jibreel used to meet him on every night of Ramadan till the end of the month." (Sahih Bukhari)

Internationally renowned cricketer and humanitarian Imran Khan, established the Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital in memory of his beloved late mother, who died of the disease in 1985. This hospital is the only free facility dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of cancer sufferers in Pakistan.

In the spirit of the blessed month and during these exalted 10 nights, please be generous and "With your help the Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital treats thousands of poor and orphaned cancer patients every year without charge. Please donate wholeheartedly towards this benevolent cause."

Jazakallah'Khair,
Imran Khan

(2) ISLAMIC SEXOLOGY:
Four sexual related aspects that could invalidate Fasting in the Month of Ramadaan (a) Sexual Intercourse (b) Masturbation (c)
Remaining in Janaat of Haidh or Nifas till the adhan for fajr prayers. (d) Enema

With regard to Fasting, there are nine acts which invalidate fast:

(i) Eating and drinking

(ii) Sexual intercourse

(iii) Masturbation (Istimna) which means self abuse, resulting in ejaculation

(iv) Ascribing false things to Almighty Allah, or his Prophet or to the successors of the Holy Prophet

(v) Swallowing thick dust

(vi) Immersing one's complete head in water

(vii) Remaining in Janabat or Haidh or Nifas till the Adhan for Fajr prayers

(viii) Enema with liquids

(ix) Vomiting

As far as Islamic Sexology is concerned, we will confine to four of the above (1) Sexual intercourse (2) Masturbation (3) Remaining in janaat of Haidh or Nifas till the adhan for fajr prayers. (4) Enema

(a) Sexual Intercourse

Sexual intercourse invalidates the fast, even if the penetration is as little as the tip of the male organ, and even if there has been no ejaculation.

If the penetration is less than the tip of the male organ, so that it cannot be said that intercourse has taken place, also if no ejaculation takes place, the fast does not become invalid. This applies to both, circumcised and uncircumcised men.

If a person commits sexual intercourse intentionally and then doubts whether penetration was up to the point of circumcision or not his fast, as an obligatory precaution, becomes invalid, and it is necessary for him to observe its qadha. It is not, however, obligatory on him to give Kaffarah.

If a person forgets that he is observing fast and commits sexual intercourse or he is compelled to have sexual intercourse in a manner that makes him helpless, his fast does not become void. However, if he remembers (that he is observing fast) or ceases to be helpless during sexual intercourse, he should withdraw from the sexual intercourse at once, and if he does not, his fast becomes void.

(b) Istimna (Masturbation)

If a person, who is observing fast, performs masturbation (Istimna), his fast becomes void.

If semen is discharged from the body of a person involuntarily, his fast does not become void.

Even if a person observing fast knows that if he sleeps during the day time he will become Mohtalim (i.e. semen will be discharged from his body during sleep) it is permissible for him to sleep, even if he may not be inconvenienced by not sleeping. And if he becomes Mohtalim, his fast does not become void.

If a person who is observing fast, wakes up from sleep while ejaculation is taking place, it is not obligatory on him to stop it.

A fasting person who has become Mohtalim can urinate even if he knows that by urinating the remaining semen will flow from his body.

If a fasting person who has become Mohtalim, knows that some semen has remained in his body and if he does not urinate before taking Ghusl, it will come out after Ghusl, he should on the basis of recommended precaution, urinate before taking Ghusl.

A person who indulges in courtship with an intention to allow semen to be discharged, will complete his fast and also observe its qadha, even if semen is not discharged.

If a fasting person indulges in courtship without the intention of allowing the semen to be discharged, and also, if he is sure that semen will not be discharged, his fast is in order, even if semen may be discharged unexpectedly. However, if he is not sure about the discharge and it takes place, then his fast is void.

(c) Remaining in Janaat of Haidh or Nifas till the adhan for fajr prayers.

When a person becomes Mohtalim during sleep, the first, second and third sleep means the sleep after waking up; and the sleep in which he became Mohtalim will not be reckoned to be the first sleep.

If a person observing fast becomes Mohtalim during day time, it is not obligatory on him to do Ghusl at once.

When a person wakes up in the month of Ramadhan after the Fajr prayers and finds that he has become Mohtalim his fast is in order, even if he knows that he became Mohtalim before the Fajr prayers.

When a person who wants to observe the qadha of Ramadhan, remains in Janabat intentionally till the time of Fajr prayers, he cannot fast on that day. And if it was not intentional, he can fast, but as a precaution, it should be avoided.

If a person wants to observe the qadha of Ramadhan and wakes up after the time of Fajr prayers finding himself Mohtalim, and knows that he became Mohtalim before the time Fajr prayers, he can fast on that day with the niyyat of qadha.

If a person remains in Janabat intentionally till the time of Fajr prayers in an obligatory fast which does not have fixed days, like, the fast of Kaffarah, apparently his fast is in order, but it is better that he should observe fast on some other day.

WOMEN:

If a woman becomes Pak from Haidth or Nifas before the time of Fajr prayers in the month of Ramadhan or, as a precaution, on a day she wants to give qadha of Ramadhan, and does not do Ghusl - or in the case of time being short, tayammum - intentionally, her fast will be void. And if it is not the fast of Ramadhan or its qadha, her fast will be in order, but as a precaution, she should do Ghusl. And if the obligation of a woman is tayammum instead of Ghusl for Haidth or Nifas and she does not do it intentionally, in the month of Ramadhan or for its qadha, before the time of Fajr prayers, her fast is void.

If a woman becomes Pak from Haidh or Nifas before the time of Fajr prayers in the month of Ramadhan and she has no time to do Ghusl, she should perform tayammum. But it is not necessary for her to remain awake till the time of Fajr prayers. The same rule applies to a person whose obligation is tayammum after getting into the state of Janabat.

If a woman gets Pak from Haidh or Nifas just near the time of Fajr prayers in the month of Ramadhan, and has no time left for Ghusl or tayammum, her fast is valid.

If a woman gets Pak from Haidh or Nifas after the Fajr or if Haidh or Nifas begins during the day though just near the Maghrib time, her fast is void.

If a woman forgets to do Ghusl for Haidh or Nifas and remembers it after a day or more, the fasts that she has observed will be valid.

If a woman gets Pak from Haidh or Nifas before the time of Fajr prayers in the month of Ramadhan but neglects her obligation and does not do Ghusl before Fajr, nor does she resort to tayammum as time becomes short, her fast will be void. But if she is not negligent, like when she waits for her turn in a public bath, then even if she sleeps three times without doing Ghusl till Fajr, her fast will be valid if she does not ignore tayammum.

If a woman is in a state of excessive Istihadha, her fast will be valid even if she does not carry out the rules of Ghusls. Similarly, her fast will be in order if she does not do the Ghusls prescribed for medium Istihadha.

A person who has touched a dead body (i.e. has brought any part of his own body in contact with it) can observe fast without having done Ghusl for touching a dead body, and his fast does not become void even if he touches the dead body during the fast.

(d) Enema

If liquid enema is taken by a fasting person, his fast becomes void even if he is obliged to take it for the sake of treatment. (www.al-islam.org)

(3) Letter from a mother to her child before she attempted suicide:

"Never, ever think Mommy didn't love you. You have been such a tremendous "light" for me, When people talk in a negative way about me, please try to remember how much fun we've had, and how much we have shared with talks and laughter.

I am so sorry - I don't see any more roads to take and even if i could see more than just a scary, black hole of darkness, I don't have what it takes to continue on. I have tried so hard with all the things that have happened, and I just can't find a spark of good anymore...I hope you and your dad can get through. I truly have loved you both. (To my husband) - I am sorry, I was not able to meet any of your needs. If it means anything, I have loved you so much and cherished you. Please, Please forgive me" .

Luckily the mother SURVIVED the suicide attempt. Let's pray Allah to give renewed strength, vigor and motivation to all those who feel they have been pushed against the wall and cannot battle with life anymore.

(4) A DIALOGUE WITH SATAN!!
( (An excellent article that was forwarded to us by Br. Mohammed Aminuddin from Lomita, California).

By Sheikh: Aa'ed Al Karny

Deep at night, I had this dialogue with Satan. Shortly, I heard the Fajr prayer call. I wanted to go to the mosque.

He said: "The night is still long, so take a nap."

I said: "I'm afraid I'll miss my obligatory prayer!"

He said: "There is much time to go "

I said: "I'm afraid I'll miss praying in congregation."

He said: "Don't be too harsh on yourself in worship."

Then, I didn't wake up until the sun had already risen.

He whispered to me again saying: "Don't feel sorry for what you have missed. The day is still full of many other chances."

As soon as I started mentioning Allah, he brought to my mind all kinds of thoughts.

I said: "You are diverting me from making Duaa'."

He said: "Just delay it until the night." Shortly, I intended to repent.

He said: "Enjoy your young age before it comes to an end"!

I said: "I'm too afraid of death."

He said: "But your life will not end now."

I started to memorize Qur'an

He said: "Entertain yourself with songs."

I said: "But it's an unlawful thing to do."

He said: "Scholars differed on that matter

I said: "The evidences from the Prophet's sayings (peace be upon him) are with me"

He said: "But you know their sources are weak!"

A beautiful lady passed by, so I lowered my gaze.

He said: "What's wrong? It's just a gaze"!

I said: "A gaze puts me in a dangerous place."

He said: "It's lawful to contemplate in grace."

I went to the Kaaba (The Ancient House of Allah). There he was with me on the way.

He said: "What's the reason behind this trip?"

I said: "To make 'Umrah'."

He said: "You have risked dangers (on your travel) to do this Umra.

Don't you know that good deeds have plenty of other doors?!!"

I said: "But my life needs a change for the better"

He said: "Don't you know that you can't enter Paradise through your deeds?

I went to give advice to people.

He said: "Don't put yourself in an embaressing situation.

I said: "But, my only aim is to benefit others."

He said: "That's a trap of self-admiration, and it is indeed the head of corruption."

I said: "Tell me your opinion about some people."

He said: " I can answer you of the private, as well as the general."

I said: "Ahmed Ibn Hanbal?"

He said: "His calling to follow Quraan and Sunnah was killing me."

I said: "Ibn Taymeyah?"

He said: "His words hit my head like a daily beating."

I said: "Al-Bukhari?"

He said: "I can even burn my house with his book."

I said: "Al-Haggag?"

He said: "I wish 1000 of men are like him. His way is cure and happiness to my colleagues of Satans."

I said: "Pharoah?"

He said: "Oh, to him victory and support we owe."

I said: "Saladin, the Hero of the battle of "Hetteen"?"

He said: "Let us not talk of him…he brought humiliation to my sons, and buried our heads in mud."

I said: "Mohamed Ibn Abdul Wahab?"

He said: "His messages were like the heavenly fiery stars that were burning my heart"

I said: "Abu Jahl?"

He said: "The best kinship and brothers we are."

I said: "Abu Lahab?"

He said: "We are together in every step forever."

I said: "Lenin?"

He said: "Bounded by me, with Stalin on fire."

I said: "Nude Magazines?"

He said: "Are my holy books."

I said: "Satellites?"

He said: "Make people diabolical."

I said: "Coffee Shops?"

He said: "Welcome everyone who is diverted from Allah and the right way."

I said: "What is your duaa (athkaar)?"

He said: "Songs."

I said: "What is your job?"

He said: " False Hopes."

I said: "What do you think about the Markets?"

He said: "Clubs where my friends meet."

I said: "What do you think of the Socialist party?"

He said: "It is with which I have shared all my belongings, to whom I taught all my thoughts, intentions and prayers."

I said: "How do you misguide people?"

He said: "By desires, doubts, distracting amusements, hopes and songs."

I said: "How do you misguide women?"

He said: "I tempt them towards showing off their beauty, and favoring the prohibited over the lawful.

I said: "How do you misguide the Scholars?"

He said: "By paving the way for them to admiration and showing off, and by planting envy and pride in their hearts."

I said: "How do you misguide people in general?"

He said: "Through back-biting, tale-fabrication, wasting their time in things of no value and in useless cheap conversations."

I said: "How do you misguide merchants?"

He said: "By tempting them to deal with bribery, making them hate paying charity and by making spendthriftness beloved."

I said: "How do you misguide young people?"

He said: "By making them fall in the trap of love, reckless in following Allah's orders and committing the prohibited."

I said: "What do you think of "Israel", the Jewish state?"

He said: "Oh, don't try to backbite and speak ill of my beloved home country, the most dear to my heart."

I said: "What do you think of Abu Nawwas?"

He said: "Such a respectful character. His poems really inspired me."

I said: "And "modernity"?"

He said: "The inheritors of our satanic knowledge."

I said: "Secularity?"

He said: "That's my belief, and its believers are the cheating magicians and creators of false hopes. We all bear same names."

I said: "What do you think of Washington?"

He said: "The state of my beloved ones and the base for my army. Indeed it is my nation."

I said: "What do you think of those people who call to the word of Allah?"

He said: "They are torturing me! They inflict a lot of pain and misery on me. They made me an old man with gray hair! They destroy all what I build! They make noise when I speak, read when I sing, and seek refuge from me when I show up."

I said: "What do you say about newspapers?"

He said: "Means for wasting people's time, especially that of the elite, and means for stealing money."

I said: "What do you think of the BBC?"

He said: "It's my weapon. Through it I put the poison in the honey, ignite wars between Arabs & the other nations and flatter both the oppressor and oppressed."

I said: "What did you do with the Crow?"

He said: "I made him kill his brother and bury him under earth till he disappeared."

I said: "What did you do with Karoon?"

He said: "I whispered to him: You son of the old man. Save the treasuries to win. You are one of the greatest men."

I said: "What did you say to Pharoah?"

He said: "I told him: You are the greatest one in the palace. To win say: "Isn't it me who possess the power over Egypt?"."

I said: "What did you say to the one who drinks wine?"

He said: "I told him you should drink this grape's juice. It is the answer to all your problems. It wipes out your troubles. And don't worry, you know the way to repentance and its doors are always opened for you."

I said: "What kills you?"

He said: "Reading the verses of "Al Kursy" (the Chair). It prevents me from breathing and makes me feel I'm in an eternal prison, in a night full of misery."

I said: "Who are the most beloved people to you?"

He said: "Singers, poets that aim at misguiding people, sin doers, and every cunning person who goes astray."

I said: "Who is the most hateful person to you?"

He said: "Mosque-goers, everyone who kneels and prostrates to Allah, every pious and sincere worshipper, and every fighter in the cause of Allah."

I said: "I hereby seek refuge in Allah from you."

The moment I said so, he disappeared as though melting into the sand - and this is the liar's end.

Ice cream made from (human) breast milk? That's what the People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) wants Ben & Jerry's Homemade Ice Cream to consider making.

The Virginia-based nonprofit group sent a letter to company co-founders Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield on Tuesday asking them to use human breast milk instead of cow's milk in their products.

PETA said the health of consumers and cows would benefit from the switch.

Ben & Jerry's spokesman Rob Michalak said the company applauds PETA's creative approach to bring attention to an issue, but believes that a mother's milk is best used by a child.
