We the majority of all faiths and creeds are in a way helpless due to our own moderate outlook. You may have heard the saying, that EMPTY DRUMS MAKE MORE NOISE or ONLY SQUEAKY WHEELS GET THE ATTENTION. In the same way, the extremists of all faiths, nationalities including the secularists are rattling and making literally a loud noise and trying to impose their values on the global majority and during this historical crossroad of the contemporary period with global faiths, we call on all citizens of the globe to unite and oppose such imposition from any single source.

We respect all religions, nationalities, cultures and call for an OPEN SOCIETY. A society in which human beings have a inalienable right to express themselves in whatever aspect they individually feel is appropriate, for the simple fact, that the individual life in question is theirs and not anybody else's.

If Almighty Allah really wanted, with his endless supreme powers he could have very easily made the entire mankind strictly follow Islam in all its details. But the glorious Almighty Allah did not want such imposition and refused to implement the above. Almighty Allah wanted human beings to be given a choice, and use their brains to distinguish between the right and wrong and then follow the most appropriate choice the individual decides to follow. Almighty Allah also made it clear about the outcome of the choices we make in terms of our final destination that may end up in heaven or hell.

The main point from the above is the CHOICE THAT ALLAH has given to mankind. And we appeal to the global ummah to work together to uphold Allah's will to allow each and every human being the choice to decide in which direction he or she wants his or her life to follow.

In conclusion, we support a woman's right to wear niqab or hijab if she so prefers to want to wear while at the same time, we respect the right of a woman to wear any other dress if she so chooses. It is about her and not about us. The least we can do is respect her decision as being made by an adult.

From the Quranic verse quoted above of there being NO COMPULSION, we don't believe that we have a right to IMPOSE or MANDATE our Islamic belief or values on others. However if non-Muslims would voluntarily want to know more about Islam, needless to say, we would do all possible to educate and enlighten them about Islam.

Though Muslims don't have ISLAMIC MISSIONARIES with hospitals and schools across the world, though there continues to be severe backlash by certain misinformed section of people, though certain sections of the global media continues to be biased against Islam, still ISLAM thrives and continues to be the fastest growing religion in the world and is a lightning rod when it comes to the zeal, enthusiasm and passion that followers of any religion could ever possibly dream of having. God is revealed to believers as they grow to love others intimately, which allows them to more fully recognize and appreciate God and one another. An understanding of this intertwined relationship between oneself and God, and oneself and others is essential to the development of a true and complete commitment to becoming closer with God. In many hadith, a causal relationship is developed between these two forms of love. "My love is by necessity for those who love one another, for those who sit with one another in Me, for those who give generously to another in Me, and for those who visit one another in Me"

......According to the hadith, a Muslim's identity depends on more than pronouncements of faith. Muslims must become the full embodiment of these beliefs through living faith. By emphasizing a commitment to community, the hadith create a culture of social and personal responsibility to justice and equality.

During the protest, while participating women go bare, male participants will cover their chests to comply with gender equal rights by wearing bikini tops or bras.

For Rael, spiritual leader of the Raelian Movement (rael.org) and founder of Gotopless.org, the equation is simple:

A new feminist group has burst onto the scene in Ukraine, and so far it seems to consist mainly of women who enjoy making a spectacle, often by removing their clothes. Founded two years ago by a university student, they have gained attention by protesting topless.

Oddly enough, one thing they have protested by removing their clothing to get attention is prostitution, but they have also denounced cooking, child-rearing, homemaking, anti-adultery laws and Russians.

It is unfortunate that even in sports, there are various forces in play impacting women. Non-Muslims tend to see a Muslim woman through the lens of a non-Muslim. Not surprisingly they do not understand that ISLAM IS A WAY OF LIFE, which means that Islam will manifest itself in the life of an individual in his or her daily religious rituals, food, work, hobbies and participation in various activities including sports. It is unfortunate that many non-Muslims do not see a Muslim woman in sports favorably if she maintains her Islamic identity by wearing her modest dress. On the contrary, it is equally unfortunate that many Muslims see a non-Muslim women in sports in a negative way if she is partially clothed.

ARE THE "SECULAR EXTREMISTS" THE CURRENT DANGER FOR THE FUTURE MISERY AND SELF DESTRUCTION OF MANKIND ?

The secular extremists are a group that have moved away from their own people of Abrahamic faith (Jews, Christianity and Muslims) and are fast picking up momentum in terms of implementing their value system upon their respective nation. Their values are opposite if not contradictory to the family values and sexual morality that the people of Abrahamic faith know of.

Britain’s children are being groomed for sex at increasingly early ages in primary school in government-approved sex education programs, a children’s rights advocate told LifeSiteNews.com today.

Antonia Tully is the director of the Safe at School program by the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (SPUC), which is attempting to alert parents to the threat of explicit sex education in British primary school curricula.

She said that parents have to be warned that the point of these programs is to teach their children how to have sex, how to get contraceptives and, logically, abortion when contraceptives fail.

By the time the children are through the primary and secondary school programs, they are “talking and thinking about sex, they’re ready to have sex. When you study it, you can see there is a continuum. Teaching it in primary school and then facilitating it in secondary school,” Tully said. “Then people wonder why the kids are getting pregnant. And why the skyrocketing levels of STDs.”

Tully hopes to speak to parents at a public meeting being held in Workshop, Nottinghamshire, to ask them to contact officials to protest the program, called Living and Growing, by the independent broadcaster Channel 4. The program has been in use in mixed-sex classrooms for about ten years around the country, and is encouraged by the government’s schools regulator, the Office for Standards in Education, (OFSTED).

Presented to primary school children in three parts, the program starts by instructing children aged five to seven in the names of genitals and the differences between boys and girls, and between children and adults. In the other sections, children aged seven to nine are given full instructions in sexual intercourse, conception and childbirth. The program includes detailed illustrations of male and female genitals and masturbation, cartoon videos of adults having sex and a graphic presentation of childbirth.

The program emphasizes the popular theory that children must be taught that there is nothing wrong with sexual behavior, Tully said. The only censure on behavior the program presents is on the use of “bad words” like “dyke” or “queer” to describe homosexuals.

Homosexuality is presented as morally neutral and the program includes live-actor clips of men kissing men and women kissing women.

“What does it mean to be gay? It’s simply said that ‘a man fancies another man; a woman fancies another woman,’ and that’s it.”

While a Labour government bill failed this year to force all schools in the country to include explicit sex education, the program is still being pushed by government agencies such as OFSTED and the “Healthy Schools” program, in which individual schools vie for status that can be granted through adoption of what Tully calls “body parts” sex education programs.

It is so ironic that the mention of God, abstinence, chaste behavior and other morally relevant subjects are either totally forbidden in the classroom because it is viewed as “religion” but the contrary ethic of premature sex education in terms, usage and practice, which has become the “religious” ethic of the left, is promoted and considered normal. Why are moral and holy words like “Jesus Christ”, “Christianity” and “abstinence” deemed negative while “homosexual”, “Gay”, “premarital sex” are touted as positive? We are dealing here with children and they are being denied their innocence by a liberal, leftist, socialistic regime that erroneously believe they have the right to indoctrinate our kids in any way they want. Gender identity as a value in social relations is important in Islam. A day may come in Canada, that if a man enters a women's restroom within the Islamic Center, and if anyone objects, they may be breaking the Canadian law. We were disappointed to find no participation from any Islamic organization in opposing below bill while there was opposition by many other religious and pro-family organizations including the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada, Campaign Life Coalition, REAL Women of Canada, and the Canada Family Action Coalition).

The Canadian private members bill seeking to enshrine special rights for so-called “transsexuals,” which has been labeled a “bathroom bill” because it would allow men to use women’s bathrooms, is at grave risk of passing as early as next week, warns Campaign Life Coalition national president Jim Hughes in an “urgent” new video message.

CLC is “very concerned that Bill C-389 is this close to passing in the House of Commons,” says Hughes. “I cannot overstate how important it is to meet with your MP and urge them to vote against this lunatic bill.” The private members bill, authored by New Democrat MP Bill Siksay, seeks to add “gender identity” and “gender expression” as prohibited grounds for discrimination under the Canada Human Rights Act, and as identifiable groups in the Criminal Code’s hate crimes section. The bill sailed through committee earlier this month and will likely see a final vote in the House of Commons in early December. If passed, it will head to the Senate.

He said it will enshrine legitimacy for ‘transgenderism’, describing this as “the nature-defying belief that one can be a man on the outside but a woman on the inside, or vice versa.”

This week, pro-family advocate Donna Miller of "Concerned Women for America" in North Carolina warned that the bill will endanger women by putting them at greater risk of bathroom attacks - where the woman is attacked in a public bathroom by a man who followed her in or hid inside. “The gender identity bills will put more men in bathrooms,” she explained to LifeSiteNews. “We’re having tremendous problems with bathroom attacks already. Why would you allow more boys in girl’s bathrooms?”

Commenting on this, Hughes said: “Imagine a young girl - your daughter or granddaughter - goes into a washroom and finds a man in there. How is the young girl to determine whether or not this man in the bathroom is a ‘peeping tom,’ a rapist or a pedophile, or someone who’s merely transgendered?”

“It is unconscionable for any legislator to purposefully place her in such a compromising position,” he added.

He emphasized that CLC is opposing the bill also out of empathy for those who are confused about their gender, who, according to the American College of Paediatricians, are suffering from a mental illness.

“Canadian law would recognize a mental disorder as normal,” he said. “This bill lacks genuine compassion because it cooperates with mental illness.”

“The media has obviously been trying to keep this bill out of the public eye by refusing to report on it,” he said, and “obviously” is “afraid that once average moms and dads find out the implications, there will be an uprising against it.”

Some of the implications of the bill noted by critics:

- Businesses and other public venues will be required to allow men use of women’s bathrooms, and vice versa, or to install special bathrooms for the “transgendered”

- Women and children will face increased bathroom attacks owing to higher numbers of men in women’s bathrooms - Businesses or schools could see more lawsuits over a lack of security due to increased bathroom attacks

- Single-sex service or social groups, such as the Lion’s Club or Catholic Women’s League, Scouts, Girl Guides or sports teams of all ages could be required to allow cross-dressers of the opposite sex

- The tendency to treat gender identity disorder (GID) as a normal mental state will be given further legitimacy - Children and others who struggle with gender identity disorder (GID) will find it even harder to obtain treatment

- The government - including military and RCMP - and businesses will be forced to hire gender-confused individuals

- The government will be required to pay for sex-change operations - Young girls could face psychological damage due to exposure to strange naked men in women’s dressing rooms

- Businesses will be forced to allow men to deal with clients while dressed as a woman, and vice versa

Pro-family Activists Concerned That Canadian ‘Transgender’ Bill Will Increase Bathroom Attacks

“The gender identity bills will put more men in bathrooms,” she explained. “We’re having tremendous problems with bathroom attacks already. Why would you allow more boys in girl’s bathrooms?”

“All they have to do is say they’re expressing their feminine side,” she continued.

“Right now when you see a man in a women’s bathroom, a red flag goes up. There’s somebody here that shouldn’t be here. But that wouldn’t happen when this becomes commonplace.”

Several women have been killed in the United States in bathroom attacks, and there have been numerous reports of attacks in Canada as well.

In October an Ottawa man was sentenced to three years in prison after assaulting a 15-year-old in the women’s bathroom at Nepean High School. He grabbed her from behind, covered her mouth, and forced her to the ground. After she screamed, and bit and kicked him, he fled. The man eventually turned himself in.

In Halifax last fall, a woman was assaulted in a public women’s bathroom at the downtown Park Lane Mall. The man, who carried a sharp object, had hid in one of the stalls. He ran out after nearby restaurant workers rushed over in response to the woman’s screams.

Pro-family leaders point out that organizations like the American College of Pediatricians treat gender confusion as a mental illness, meaning Canadian law would recognize a mental disorder as normal.

Miller warned of the potential psychological damage to young girls if men are allowed in women’s dressing rooms. “If you go to your local Y and have a shower,” she mentioned, for example. “Guys aren’t always modest, and whether they are feeling feminine or not, they very much are out there, you know. They don’t have the same sensibilities that women do, as far as modesty.”

“Many of them don’t go through the sex change operation,” she added. “They often are still male from the waist down.”

The bill has been opposed by many religious and pro-family organizations including the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada, Campaign Life Coalition, REAL Women of Canada, and the Canada Family Action Coalition. They have called on all people of good will to urge their MPs to oppose the bill when it comes up for a vote.

A Swedish district court has sentenced a couple to nine months each in prison and fined them the equivalent of US $10,650 after they admitted to spanking three of their four children as a normal part of their parenting methods. Corporal punishment of children by parents was made illegal in Sweden in 1979, an early step in what a U.S. parental rights lawyer called the nearly total take-over of parenting by the state in Sweden.

Court documents, quoted by Sveriges Television, said that the parents, who have not been named in the press, “explained that they had used, what they themselves described as spanking, physical punishment as part of their methods for raising the children.”

There is no indication of abuse by the parents in the released documents, with the court noting that the parents “had a loving and caring relationship with their children.”

Nevertheless, the parents have been sent to prison and fined 25,000 kronor for each of the “affected children.” The children have been remanded to state-sponsored foster care since early this summer, and Mike Donnelly, Director of International Relations for the US-based Home School Legal Defence Association (HSLDA), told LifeSiteNews.com that it is “extremely unlikely” that the children will ever be returned to their family home.

Donnelly said that the case is typical of the stories of many families with traditional values in Sweden: “In the area of family rights in Sweden things really aren’t going well there.”

“Parenting has been outsourced, or simply directly taken over by the state in Sweden,” Donnelly said. “And these parents have been jailed for doing what in America would be perfectly normal.”

Ninety percent of Swedish children are in publicly funded day care from extremely early ages, as young as a year or 18 months, he said. It is the position of the state that parents are overruled by the state in areas of child rearing, he said.

Donnelly said, however, that the best interests of the child are not the state’s highest priority: “So lets take these kids who have had a loving and caring relationship with their parents and send them to foster care, and throw their parents into jail for nine months.”

Donnelly cited the now notorious case of Domenic Johansson, the boy who was snatched by state officials because his parents were homeschooling him, an act that is also illegal in Sweden.

“The bottom line is, don’t go to Sweden. Don’t move there, if you want to have a normal family.”

The Russian Prosecutor's Office has told the administration of a college that tried to ban short skirts, naked tummies and pierced noses at school that they are wrong.

Some time ago, a state teacher-training college in Kemerovo, Siberia, issued rules prohibiting schoolgirls to come to classes dressed inappropriately, that is, in things unfit for future teachers, Itar Tass reports. The ban included miniskirts, naked stomachs and smalls of backs, as well as nose, eyebrow, tongue, lip and basically any other piercing. All of that is unacceptable for girls who will teach children, the dean's office said. Quite predictably, the girls were rebellious about the ban and tried to have it lifted. But the support that they received at the Prosecutor's Office, where they took their complaints, came totally unexpectedly.

According to the prosecutor's decision, the ban introduced at the college is unconstitutional. It violates the citizen's right to equality and is therefore illegal.

The college's administration had nothing left to do but admit they had been wrong and lift the ban.

Every nation and every culture has its own share of the good, bad and ugly. What one can observe visually may not necessarily be the fact and could just be a deception. As a simple example, just look at the sky above you, on a clear sunny day. When one looks at the sky and swears that it is blue, in reality we know that it is not blue. Every astronaut who went to space can testify to it. When one can be deceived visually by our observations of sky and oceans why cannot one be deceived culturally and socially ?

Even the western countries has its own share of the good, bad and ugly and one should not get deceived by visual, cultural and social observations. Don't be deceived into believing that the WEST unconditionally represents ADVANCEMENT OF MANKIND. While it is true that the WEST may be leaders in education, science, technology, champions of human rights, advanced military might et.c they may be unbeknown to themselves slipping down the path of moral degradation. One indicator is increased disassociation with religion. Christianity particularly in Europe seems to be significantly losing its influence in day to day life of majority of the Christians in Europe.

It should then come as no surprise that the traditional concept of a strong family consisted of a man, woman and child(ren) is getting diluted and literally crumbling. So also the reduced value placed on virginity and subsequent increase in sex prior to and outside marriage, increase in incestuous relations and rampant commercialization of female pre-teen and teens sexual appeal. Certain western nations have liberalized rules regarding incestuous relations specially as it pertains to step family members and adopted family members.

BESTIALITY:
There seems to be a very slow but gradual acceptance of bestiality which involves sex with animals. Experts have now come out with guidelines on how to sexually excite an animal and the underlying theme seems to indicate that it is okay to perform bestiality as long as one does not abuse the animal.

German Government Publication Promotes Incestuous Pedophilia as Healthy Sex Education

Booklets from a subsidiary of the German government’s Ministry for Family Affairs encourage parents to sexually massage their children as young as 1 to 3 years of age. Two 40-page booklets entitled "Love, Body and Playing Doctor" by the German Federal Health Education Center (Bundeszentrale für gesundheitliche Aufklärung - BZgA) are aimed at parents - the first addressing children from 1-3 and the other children from 4-6 years of age.

"Fathers do not devote enough attention to the clitoris and vagina of their daughters. Their caresses too seldom pertain to these regions, while this is the only way the girls can develop a sense of pride in their sex," reads the booklet regarding 1-3 year olds. The authors rationalize, "The child touches all parts of their father’s body, sometimes arousing him. The father should do the same."

Canadian author and public speaker Michael O’Brien who has written and spoken extensively about the crisis of culture in the West spoke to LifeSiteNews.com about the shocking and extremely disturbing phenomenon.

It is, he said, "State-encouraged incest, which in most civilized societies is a crime."

The development is, he suggests, a natural outcome of the rejection of the Judeo-Christian moral order.

The pamphlet advises parents to permit young children "unlimited masturbation" except where physical injury becomes apparent. It advises: "Children should learn that there is no such thing as shameful parts of the body. The body is a home, which you should be proud of." For ages 4-6, the booklet recommends teaching children the movements of copulation.

Another product of the BZgA is a song book aimed at children of four and slightly older which includes several songs espousing masturbation. The song-book entitled "Nose, belly and bum" includes one song with the following lyrics: "When I touch my body, I discover what I have. I have a vagina, because I am a girl. Vagina is not only for peeing. When I touch it, I feel a pleasant tingle."

"The wiser and deeper position of most civilizations recognized that children need a period of innocence," commented O’Brien. "Now the state, the German state, is encouraging destruction of this state of innocence," he added.

According to the Polish daily newspaper Rzeczpospolita, the BZgA booklet is an obligatory read in nine German regions. It is used for training nursery, kindergarten and elementary school teachers. Ironically it is recommended by many organizations officially fighting pedophilia, such as the German Kunderschutzbund. BZgA sends out millions of copies of the booklet every year.

Rzeczpospolita reports that the Eckhardt Scheffer of BZgA claimed that before releasing the manual the organization consulted parents, educators and child psychologists. 93% of whom gave a positive evaluation.

Even for a Western nation, Germany’s billboards and television ads push the limits of public pornography. Last year LifeSiteNews.com reported that a very popular teen magazine in Germany publishes nude photos of teens in sexual positions which would be in almost any other nation illegal child pornography.

With a licentiousness as the new morality of the secular materialist establishment and home school a forbidden practice, parents in Germany may well wonder what will transpire in public education.

If it was really true that the couple would implement the final outcome based on the majority of poll respondents, then it is really a travesty, that the current continued heart beat and life of a growing fetus is now dependent on the final outcome of vote from the readers/visitors. The readers/visitors who had no clue about the couple and who are total strangers but now have the choice through the majority (thanks to the internet) to sustain the life of the fetus or terminate the innocent's life for no fault of the innocent.While the LIFE OF A GROWING FETUS IS ON THE LINE depending on the outcome of the internet poll, ask yourself whether this is the enlightened modern 21st century that you are proud to live in ?

If prolifers want to view the above scenario from a positive angle, they could be thankful to Alisha Arnold for atleast getting feedback from the internet readers/visitors to her site rather than millions of other women who went straight for an abortion after making up their mind to abort. In Alisha's case, if the majority vote NOT TO ABORT, the fetus does have a chance for survival.

A Minnesota pro-life husband and pro-abortion wife have admitted they are the couple behind the BirthOrNot.com site, which featured a poll asking visitors to decide whether they should keep their unborn baby or choose abortion. Many have expressed shock, and some have even alleged that the site is a pro-life publicity stunt, but the truth is stranger than that.

Pete and Alisha Arnold, thirty-something Minnesota suburbanites are expecting a baby, which is in its 18th week of gestation. They set up the shocking internet poll to ask readers, “Should we give birth or have an abortion?” The site went viral last week and prompted a great deal of outcry from both those in the pro-life and pro-abortion camps.

After some digging, however, the Arnolds’ identities were uncovered and the matter was declared by some to be a hoax, given the husband’s propensity for posting on conservative blogs and websites.

The husband-wife pair, however, at first denied that the site was meant to be a hoax - but that is where the story starts to get stranger. Pete Arnold later told CNN that, in actual fact, abortion was never really on the table from the beginning for the unborn child, nick-named “Wiggles.” He said he bought the domain site BirthorNot.com before Alisha became pregnant, and that he wanted to create a dialogue about abortion.

“My intent is not to deceive people, but at the same point, I do want people to talk about this,” Arnold told CNN. “This seemed like a pretty good way to further the discussion, because people don’t ever seem to want to talk about it for real if there’s no name on it, no Baby Wiggles.”

However, Alisha Arnold has since responded to her husband’s statements on CNN in a new post, “I believe in choice,” on their site, saying that she firmly believes that a woman has the right to abort her unborn child. And while she says she is growing closer to the baby, and would probably not abort at this stage, Alisha said abortion was definitely on the table in the beginning - contrary to what her husband Pete told CNN.

“My husband may wish that that was the case, but our early disagreement about this pregnancy is what lead us to start the website in the first place,” said Alisha. “I clearly stated this to the reporter at CNN but my opinion was not included in the article that was published.”

Arnold said her hesitancy about carrying on the pregnancy was due to the trauma from three miscarriages she had already experienced after coming off the pill.

“Pete and I are on different ends of the spectrum when it comes to our beliefs about abortion,” she explained. “I’m sure I will receive considerable harassment about this post, but to me until the baby can survive without the mother (otherwise known as viability) it is not a feasible life.”

“Even though my husband’s opinion and beliefs matter to me, I, as the one carrying the baby have the final say about my body and our unborn child,” she said.

Alisha Arnold did indicate, however, that a number of comments she received from concerned individuals during this whole poll business, did help reassure her to carry through the pregnancy.

“[A]lthough I am still cautious about allowing myself to become attached, I am feeling more optimistic about moving forward,” she added.

Pro-life blogger Jill Stanek said on her blog that Alisha Arnold’s difficulty bonding with her unborn baby is both “understandable and sad.”

She likened the massive votes that the poll received in favor of abortion to a “cyber-Colosseum [sic] mob” and said that the Arnold’s disagreement over the life issue was to blame for this “ill-conceived scheme”.

“Now we just have to pray for the safety of ‘Wiggles,’ Alisha’s continued bonding with him, and the security of their marriage,” she concluded. “I’m also hopeful that through this experience Alisha will be converted on the Life issue.”

In any event, the Arnold’s internet endeavor has proved harmful personally, and economically. Alisha was recently terminated as an employee at the Eagan software firm, “TempWorks.” Local 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS obtained a company memo which stated that Alisha was a grave threat to the company’s reputation and employees were to defriend her on Facebook if they valued their jobs.

We believe that following Islam through its various facets actually enhances one's emotional well being on an individual level and strengthens the community on a societal level. In this E-Zine we focus on real life social issues and emphasize that following Islam prevents us from multiple problems both on an individual and societal level.

Let us take children as an example. Islam strongly emphasizes on parents to be loving, caring to their children and guiding them in the right path. When that does not happen the child grows up with additional problems. This includes mental and physical problems to the child who grows up to be an adolescent and later an adult. We have also included other related topics including health, mental health and sexual health.

CHILDREN:

Prophet Muhammad (SAW) stated: "Be careful of your duty to Allah and be fair and just to the children”.

Prophet Mohamed (SAW) stated: “He who does not show compassion to our young, nor honor our elders, is not from us.” (Abu Dawood, Al-Tirmidhi)

Let's analyze the above hadith in which our loving Prophet encourages us to be fair, just and show compassion to our children. Prophet Mohamed (SAW) was the living Quran in terms of practically implementing values of love, care and affection for his own family members. Our loving Prophet NEVER abused any of his family members.

Obviously the above reference of being fair, just and compassionate includes NOT being physically or sexually abusive towards one's own kids. There is lot of emphasis both in the Holy Quran and Hadith about seeking knowledge. We believe seeking such knowledge also includes learning innovative behavioral techniques to raise our children in an Islamic way WITHOUT involving physical abuse. It is really sad that in this 21st century there are still millions of Muslim parents due to poverty of above innovative knowledge continue the outdated (and in many advanced countries illegal practice) of physical abuse.

As we referred to in our previous issue, the Muslims must expand its application of the concept of UMMAH in non-spiritual and non-ritual areas of knowledge that benefit everyone. How many Muslim Psychologists, Social Workers and/or Psychotherapists you personally know that are actively involved in their local Islamic Centers offering service to the community through individual and group counseling or at least giving professional advice to parents who have difficulty with their children. We believe that this is an area of improvement for the Global Ummah.

To summarize, we would like to connect the Islamic historical references to present day realities specially for Muslims in the West to state that one who violates above mentioned Prophet's recommendation is only creating more problems not only for himself (in terms of risking getting into legal problems for child abuse and receiving a jail term) but also for the family (kid being taken away by Division of Family Services) and most important of all, harm to the child in terms of ruining the child's healthy emotional development. Recent research outlined below further indicates that an abused child not only may develop psychiatric problems but may develop medical problems as well.

Child Abuse Linked to Increased Risk for Type 2 Diabetes in Adults

November 10, 2010 — Women who experience physical or sexual abuse as children or adolescents are at significantly increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes, a large, longitudinal cohort study suggests.

Furthermore, investigators found there is a dose response relationship such that the more severe the abuse, the greater the risk. The latest findings from the Nurses Health Study II show moderate or severe physical abuse was associated with a 26% to 54% higher risk for diabetes in adulthood.

Unwanted sexual touching was associated with a 16% higher risk for the disease. Forced sexual activity before adulthood carried a 34% increased risk if it occurred once and but carried a 69% greater risk if it occurred more frequently.

Childhood Sexual Abuse Linked to Later Schizophrenia

November 12, 2010 — Victims of childhood sexual abuse (CSA), especially when it involves penetration, are at a significant risk of developing psychosis later in life, suggests a new case-control study from Australian researchers.

In addition, when evaluating the cohort of more than 2700 children, investigators found that CSA victims were 2.6 times more likely to develop schizophrenia later on. Other significant risk factors included CSA occurring after the age of 12 years and involving more than 1 perpetrator.

"This study establishes that severe and intrusive forms of CSA are a risk factor for developing in later life psychotic illness, including schizophrenic disorders," write Margaret C. Cutajar, DPsych, MAPS, from the Center for Forensic Behavioral Science at Monash University in Victoria, Australia, and colleagues.

ATLANTA (AP) -- Teens who text 120 times a day or more -- and there seems to be a lot of them -- are more likely to have had sex or used alcohol and drugs than kids who don't send as many messages, according to provocative new research.

The study's authors aren't suggesting that "hyper-texting" leads to sex, drinking or drugs, but say it's startling to see an apparent link between excessive messaging and that kind of risky behavior.

The study concludes that a significant number of teens are very susceptible to peer pressure and also have permissive or absent parents, said Dr. Scott Frank, the study's lead author.

It found that about one in five students were hyper-texters and about one in nine are hyper-networkers -- those who spend three or more hours a day on Facebook and other social networking websites.

About one in 25 fall into both categories.

Hyper-texting and hyper-networking were more common among girls, minorities, kids whose parents have less education and students from a single-mother household, the study found.

Frank's study is billed as one of the first studies to look at texting and social networking and whether they are linked to actual sexual intercourse or to other risky behaviors.

The study found those who text at least 120 times a day are nearly three-and-a-half times more likely to have had sex than their peers who don't text that much. Hyper-texters were also more likely to have been in a physical fight, binge drink, use illegal drugs or take medication without a prescription.

Compared to the heavy texters, the hyper-networkers were not as likely to have had sex, but more likely to have been involved in other risky behaviors like drinking or fighting.

Other studies have tied teen texting to risky or lewd behavior. A Pew Research Center study found that about one-third of 16- and 17-year-olds send texts while driving. And an Associated Press-MTV poll found that about one-quarter of teenagers have "sexted" -- shared sexually explicit photos, videos and chat by cell phone or online.

Substance Abuse, Suicide Linked to Student Gambling

TORONTO — A new study by the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health shows some 29,000 Ontario middle and high school students report behaviours linked with problem gambling.

Dr. Robert Mann, the study's lead researcher, says close to three per cent of students in Grades 7 to 12 showed signs of a gambling problem, such as gambling more than they planned to or skipping school to gamble.

Those students also reported higher rates of substance abuse, delinquent behaviour and suicide attempts than the general student population.

The study released Tuesday is the latest to call attention to an addiction experts say is often overshadowed by well-known vices such as drugs, alcohol and cigarettes.

High-profile televised poker tournaments, family trips to the racetrack and video games all contribute to a culture of gambling that can take teens down a dangerous path, says Dr. Bruce Ballon, head of the centre's teen clinic for problem gambling, gaming and Internet use.

"Even though it seems very minor and fun, they're being primed and trained to think gambling is a natural thing without thinking about what that means," he said.

The findings show there is real harm involved with gambling and it needs to be addressed in the home, in schools and in society as a whole, he said.

One of the study's goals is to spotlight other risky or destructive behaviours that often go with problem gambling, said Mann, the researcher.

"If you look at the general population of students, about 26 per cent have some kind of issue with some kind of substance, whether they reported a binge drinking pattern, which is relatively common, or using cannabis or some other drugs," he said.

"Among those with a gambling problem, it turns out 68.5 per cent have a problem with a substance like alcohol or cannabis."

Problem gamblers admitted to stealing, vandalizing property and selling drugs. They were 11 times more likely to carry a handgun or get involved in a gang fight, and 20 times more likely to sell drugs other than cannabis, according to the study.

"There's a consistent theme here about these students involved in delinquent behaviours related to obtaining money," Mann said.

Even more troubling, students reporting a gambling problem were approximately 17 times more likely than their peers to have attempted suicide in the past year. About a quarter of problem gamblers said they had tried to kill themselves, compared with about two per cent of the general student population, Mann said.

Men Who Use Laptops On Their Knees 'Could Be Harming Their Fertility'

Millions of men are putting their reproductive health at risk by balancing their laptops on their knees, experts have warned.

Researchers from the State University of New York asked 29 young men to work on computers placed on their laps. They then measured the change in temperature in their genital area. Men who use laptops on their knees be warned - it increases the temperature of your testicles by 2.5C over an hour. They found that the volunteer's testicles quickly heated up to dangerous levels, even when they had protective pads underneath their laptops.

Study leader, Professor Yelim Sheynkin, said: 'Millions and millions of men are using laptops now, especially those in the reproductive age range. 'Within 10 or 15 minutes their scrotal temperature is already above what we consider safe, but they don't feel it.'

Around one in seven couples in the UK have trouble conceiving and male infertility plays a part in around half of these cases.

Under normal circumstances, the position of the testicles outside the body keeps them a few degrees cooler than the inside of the body, which is necessary for sperm production.

No studies have yet researched how laptops affect male fertility, but earlier research has showed that warming the scrotum even more than one degree Celsius is enough to damage sperm.

The latest study, published in the journal Fertility and Sterility, found the mens' testicle temperature had risen by up to 2.5 C after holding a laptop on their knees for an hour.

Professor Sheynkin said: 'I wouldn't say that if someone starts to use laptops they will become infertile.'

However, he warned that frequent use might contribute to reproductive problems because 'the scrotum doesn't have time to cool down.'

There have been some new studies that identify physical benefits that result from the orgasmic process in addition to the increasing of longevity, as cited in Sexual Orgasm Increases Longevity (also in this section).

(1) Benefits To The Heart

During arousal and orgasm the body produces DHEA, a naturally occurring hormone that is secreted into the bloodstream. Research has shown that DHEA works to keep arteries clear and strengthen hearts. In a study of 1,700 middle-age men, those men with the lowest levels of DHEA were 60% more likely to develop heart disease than sexually active men with high levels.

(2) Benefits to the Physical Comfort

In some colorful lab studies, women, who had vibrators applied to the vaginas, were capable of bearing more pain. And when their stimulation led to orgasm, their capacity for pain doubled! Another small study found that orgasms enabled relief for women who suffer from migraines.

(3) Benefits to Men’s Prostates

Two big medical studies, conducted in 2003 and 2004, confirmed that middle-age men, who were highly sexually active in their 20s and 30s (enjoying at least four orgasms a week), now had a reduced risk of prostate cancer by a margin of one-third. During sexual arousal and orgasm, a hormone called oxytocin is released . Now this hormone has been connected to a reduced risk of breast cancer. What’s more, this applies not only to women, but also to men. A study in Greece discovered that men with a history of fewer orgasms contracted breast cancer, as opposed to men who experienced more orgasmic activity. An earlier study speculated that the hormone oxytocin works to flush out carcinogens from breast fluid.

A 10-year study from Wales, which is an additional study to those cited in Sexual Orgasm Increases Longevity, revealed that men who had two or more orgasms per week were at half the risk of dying than other less sexually active men. Robot researchers at Iran's Tehran University unveiled a life-size robot named Surena 2 during the country's celebration of "Industry and Mine Day" in July. New details and videos released Monday of the robot reveal more details about its capabilities -- which appear to include dancing.

In one of the videos, released by IEEE Spectrum magazine, the researchers demonstrate Surena 2 on a TV show, where the robot walks, dances, and balances on one leg.

The robot is a joint project between the Center for Advanced Vehicles and the R&D Society of Iranian Industries and Mines. Aghil Yousefi-Koma, a professor of engineering at the University of Tehran who lead the Surena project, told IEEE Spectrum that the goal is to explore "both theoretical and experimental aspects of bipedal locomotion."

The humanoid relies on gyroscopes and accelerometers to remain in balance and move its legs, still very slowly, but Yousefi-Koma says his team is developing a "feedback control system that provides dynamic balance, yielding a much more human-like motion."

Surena 2, which weighs just under 100 pounds and is 4.75 feet high, has a total of 22 degrees of freedom: Each leg has 6 DOF, each arm 4 DOF, and the head 2 DOF. An operator uses a remote control to make the robot walk and move its arms and head. The robot can also bow.
